In a bizarre collaboration that breaks traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Revealed

According to the authorized release, "A strange meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of forbidden practices and fearsome transformations echo through the darkness." The narrative presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret cult.

The mission concentrates on "peculiar tests and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Transformations

The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the hostage, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Extra Material

Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Unique arms
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Update

This patch also introduces the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly included a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
